Lip Filler in Colorado Springs

Natural Lip Enhancement at Aspen Aesthetics + Wellness

Lip filler in Colorado Springs at Aspen Aesthetics + Wellness adds subtle, natural-looking volume and shape using dissolvable dermal filler. Every treatment is planned around your anatomy and built gradually over one or more sessions so your results never look overdone. We incorporate ultrasound technology into our practice for precise mapping and complication management, reflecting our commitment to safe, personalized care. Lip sessions start at $450 for non-members.

Your lips are one of the first things that people notice, and with even a small change, they dramatically impact the aesthetics of your face. For many, genetically thin and unbalanced lips, or lips that have thinned due to aging, can negatively affect self-confidence.

At Aspen Aesthetics + Wellness, we specialize in natural-looking enhancements.  Everyone’s lip shapes are different, and we take a personalized approach to each client. We take our time in your lip journey, building the foundation and adding slowly over multiple treatments in order to make sure you never look overdone and avoid filler migration.

What Does Lip Filler Enhance?

For achieving the perfect lips, we enhance the following:
  • Upper and lower lip balance
  • Symmetry between the left and right sides
  • A defined Cupid’s bow
  • Smoothing of lip lines

Ultrasound-Guided Lip Filler Placement

We practice the safest techniques; our advanced providers use high-resolution Mindray® Ultrasound for placement of dermal fillers. Mindray® Ultrasound gives us real-time visualization of the different layers of skin, fat, muscle, bone, and blood vessels. Mapping the blood vessels is essential to reducing risks associated with dermal filler, because everyone’s anatomy is different.

With the use of Mindray® Ultrasound, we can map the path of blood vessels, verify correct placement of the filler, and manage both urgent and delayed complications with dermal filler. Mindray® Ultrasound provides precise information regarding the nature of the complication, the layers of facial tissue involved, and the identification of the type of filler or material previously injected. This allows us to visually guide the placement of the filler and can visually guide the dissolution of filler using reversal medication.

Why Vascular Safety Matters in Lip Filler

Lip filler carries a rare but recognized risk called vascular occlusion, which happens when filler is placed into or compresses a blood vessel and restricts blood flow to the surrounding tissue. Because the lips are supplied by a network of small labial arteries, precise placement matters. Published research has found that pre-injection vascular mapping with ultrasound helps injectors identify high-risk zones, such as the upper vermilion border, and inform safer injection site and depth selection before treatment begins. If a complication is ever suspected, ultrasound also allows your provider to locate the area of concern directly rather than treating blindly, which is how we approach both complication management and filler dissolving at Aspen Aesthetics + Wellness.

What to Expect During Treatment

Your lip filler visit is broken into three simple stages, from your first consultation through the moment you leave, so you always know what happens next.

Your Consultation

Every lip filler appointment begins with a one-on-one consultation with your advanced injector, including a thorough examination of your face and lip anatomy. We spend time learning about your goals and explaining the procedure in detail, so you can decide with confidence whether treatment is right for you. Once you're ready to move forward, your provider selects the filler and technique best suited to your goals and anatomy and outlines a personalized treatment plan.

The Injection Process

Your provider places a series of small injections to shape and balance your lips according to your treatment plan, using your specific vascular anatomy rather than approximate landmarks to inform placement decisions. The treatment itself takes between 30 and 45 minutes, and discomfort is managed with both topical and injectable numbing medication by an advanced injector.

Immediately After Treatment

Most clients see their provider briefly after injection to confirm symmetry and address any immediate concerns. You are welcome to resume most normal activities the same day. Your provider will review personalized aftercare instructions with you before you leave, and you can reach out anytime if you have questions as your results settle.

Recovery & Aftercare

Mild swelling, tenderness, and occasional bruising are common for the first few days after lip filler and typically peak within 24 to 48 hours. A cold compress applied gently to the lips, sleeping slightly elevated, and avoiding strenuous exercise or excessive heat for the first 24 hours all help reduce swelling. Avoid touching or applying pressure to the treated area, and hold off on lipstick or lip products until any pinpoint injection marks have closed, usually within a few hours to a day. Most clients return to their normal routine the same day and see visible improvement in swelling within the first week.

Lip Filler vs. Lip Flip: What's the Difference?

Lip filler and a lip flip achieve different results using different techniques. Lip filler uses a dissolvable dermal filler to add volume and reshape the lips, while a lip flip uses a small amount of Botox® in the upper lip to relax the muscle, allowing the lip to roll slightly outward for a fuller-looking appearance without added volume. At Aspen Aesthetics + Wellness, Botox® in the upper lip is also used alongside filler to reduce lip movement while filler settles, so many clients benefit from both techniques as part of the same treatment plan. Your provider will help determine which approach, or combination, is right for your goals during consultation.

Lip Filler Dissolving and Correction

All filler injected at Aspen Aesthetics + Wellness is dissolvable. Our high-resolution Mindray® Ultrasound is an essential tool when diagnosing and managing previously placed filler. We are able to identify and precisely dissolve old filler that may have migrated under the skin, no longer serving its purpose, or troubleshoot areas that are not yielding optimal results. This is done with numbing medication for comfort and an injection of filler-dissolving medication called Hylenex®. Within days, the problematic filler is flushed from your system, and we can move forward providing you the results you deserve.

How Much Does Lip Filler Cost?

Lip enhancement is priced by session, with your first session being a filler hydration treatment. For volume enhancement or asymmetry refinement, 1 or 2 additional sessions may be required. Lip sessions start at $450 for non-members. Your exact cost is confirmed during consultation, and financing options are available.

Lip Filler FAQs

How much filler do I need for full lips?

We only do natural and balanced enhancements at Aspen Aesthetics + Wellness. Therefore, creating a customized treatment plan is essential to achieve the desired result and will depend on your natural lip shape. Achieving the look you want may take multiple sessions; trust the process.

Does lip filler migrate?

Because we use our lips and mouth so much, maintenance filler dissolving is always a possibility with lip filler injections. We minimize this by building lip volume slowly and using Botox® in the upper lip to reduce lip movement while your filler settles.

If I get lip filler, will I look like I have duck lips?

No. That is not an outcome we allow our clients to live with. Depending on your baseline lip and facial structure, we will create a comprehensive plan to avoid an unnatural result. This is why we analyze other aspects of your face and build lip volume slowly to avoid a forward protruding upper lip.

Do lip filler injections hurt?

Most people are very comfortable during lip filler injections and describe the process as pinchy but tolerable. We use topical and injectable numbing medications to aid in minimizing the pain of injections.

How long does lip filler last?

Most lip fillers last 6 to 12 months, depending on the product used, your metabolism, and how much movement your lips see day to day. Because we build volume gradually over multiple sessions, periodic maintenance appointments help keep your results consistent without ever looking overdone.

How should I prepare for a lip filler appointment?

To reduce the chance of bruising, avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment, and avoid blood-thinning medications or supplements like aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil unless approved by your prescribing doctor. Arrive with clean skin and a clear idea of your goals. Your provider will confirm any specific instructions during your consultation.

When will I see my final results?

Your lips will look fuller immediately, but early swelling means this is not your final result. Swelling settles over roughly two weeks as the filler integrates with your tissue, and your true result is visible at about four weeks. This is also when your provider assesses whether a refinement session would benefit your goals.

Is lip filler safe?

Lip filler is considered a safe, well-established treatment when performed by a trained provider using sound technique. The most serious but rare complication is vascular occlusion, when filler affects blood flow in a small vessel. At Aspen Aesthetics + Wellness, every lip filler injection is guided by high-resolution ultrasound, which maps your vascular anatomy before your provider ever places a needle, so placement is planned around your anatomy rather than estimated.

What happens if there's a complication after lip filler?

Complications from lip filler are uncommon, and prompt care matters if one occurs. If you notice unusual pain, color changes, or swelling that doesn't follow the typical pattern, contact us right away. Because we use ultrasound diagnostically as well as for placement, your provider can pinpoint the exact area of concern and treat it directly with dissolving medication rather than guessing, using the same technology and approach we use for routine filler dissolving.

Who is a good candidate for lip filler?

Healthy adults with naturally thin lips, asymmetry, or volume loss due to aging are typically good candidates for lip filler. Treatment is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and certain medical conditions may affect candidacy. Your provider reviews your medical history and facial anatomy during consultation to confirm the safest plan for you.
